BIOGRAPHY
Marc Solis is an accomplished senior executive with a proven track record of success within the public assembly facilities industry and minor league sports, having successfully opened and managed arenas, stadiums, convention centers and auditoriums, with more than 25 years of sports, event and facility management experience. Prior to his years in the public assembly facilities industry, Marc was an executive of four professional sport teams (International Hockey League, Central Hockey League and Canadian Football League) , and toured Paramounts Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular throughout the U.S.
Currently serving as a senior advisor and consultant, Marc A Solis (MAS) Professional Services offers: strategic advisory & consulting services in talent buying, business development, marketing, and management expertise for various clients. Marc works with each partner to develop business opportunities, streamline operations and offer executive level management expertise within the live sports & entertainment event management and lifestyle destination attractions industries.
Most recently, Marc served as the President & CEO of Bert Ogden Arena and HEB Park in Edinburg Texas, launching a new state of the art arena and professional soccer stadium in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) of South Texas. In his role Marc supervised all aspects of facility management, including facility make ready, move-in coordination, FF&E, hiring the executive team, overseeing booking, marketing, policy development and implementation, all daily operations including food and beverage and staff services. Prior to Bert Ogden Arena and HEB Park, Marc served as the general manager of State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas (RGV), (2014-2018). Under Marc's guidance, the State Farm Arena continually placed in the Top 100 Arenas in the world according to industry bible publication - Pollstar Magazine annual rankings. What makes this distinction unique is the fact that State Farm Arena sits in a secondary market and has a concert capacity of 6,500 while all other venues that received the distinction are in major markets, most with capacities of than 15,000.
In addition to opening the new Bert Ogden Arena, on August 31, 2018. Marc also has experience with new facility construction and capital projects as he opened and managed three (3) new facilities in Texas: Toyota Field, a professional soccer stadium in North San Antonio (’13), The American Bank Center Arena, Convention Center and Selena Auditorium (’04) in Corpus Christi and the Laredo Entertainment Center (’01). He also served as the general manager of the world famous Alamodome in San Antonio, a 65,000 capacity world-class stadium.
Prior to entering into the Public Assembly Facilities Management Industry, Marc toured the popular "Paramount's Laser Spectacular " throughout the U.S., Mexico and New Zealand and was an Executive Team Member of two (2) Minor League Hockey Teams in San Antonio (Iguanas in '94 and Dragons "97). In 2003 Marc was the founding president of the Laredo Bucks Professional Hockey Team of the Central Hockey League (CHL). The team was a major success "on and off the ice" and awarded "Team of the Year" in their Inaugural Season.
As a result of his years of hands-on experience, Marc Solis has proven to be extremely skillful at building and maintaining beneficial relationships with promoters, agents, professional sports leagues, vendors, construction/operational transitions, tenants, CVB agencies and civic groups. In addition, Mr. Solis has been a valued community member throughout the State of Texas serving on various non-profit boards and he is a member of several professional trade organizations including the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM), International Entertainment Buyers Association (IEBA), Independent Promoters Alliance (IPA) and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, among others.
